2016 PRGA Junior Match Play Championship

Humacao, Puerto Rico: After the conclusion of all the matches, Melvin Morales and Natalia Rivera where crown as the 2016 PRGA Jr. Match Play Champions. Morales won his match against Mitzel Chevres (runner-up) 2&1. Rivera won her match against Nicole Dragonette 3&1. Alejandro Toro won his match against Ian Aldarondo for the second runner-up position. Faviola Gonzalez won her match against Laurel Ann Coomes for the second runner-up position. All matches where great matches and the kids gave it all on the course. Congratulation to everyone and thanks for your dedication and hard works.

60th Caribbean Amateur Golf Championship

 

Puerto Rico wins the overall Arthur Ziadie Trophy and the George Teale Trophy of the 2016 Caribbean Amateur Golf Championship. In a dramatic finish, Puerto Rico came in second place of the Hoerman Cup by one stroke over the Dominican Republic. Great overall performance by the team and coaches. The PRGA congratulates all the players and coaches for an excellent overall performance. #teampuertorico 🇵🇷

Puerto Rico sets CAGC scoring record after shooting -10 (278) between four players on the third round of the Hoerman Cup. Erick Juan Morales ties the lowest round of the tournament with an impressive -6 (66). Followed by Brandon Bueno who shot -2 (70). Daniel Caban and Jeronimo Esteves both posted rounds of -1 (71). Max Alverio shot even par (72) and is just two strokes behind Sachin Kumar from Trinidad & Tobago who is -9 overall. In the George Teale Trophy, Valeria Pacheco shot even par (72) and holds a one shot victory at -1 overall. Yudika Rodriguez who shot +2 (74) was our next best score of the day. Puerto Rico increases the overall lead heading to the final round. Excellent job guys! Keep it going! 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷 #teampuertorico

After the second round of the 2016 CAGC, Puerto Rico has the overall lead in the tournament. The best two scores of the day in the Hoerman Cup belong to Max Alverio with an -2 (70) who is leading the tournament and Melvin Morales who also shot -2 (70). In the George Teale Trophy the best two scores are Valeria Pacheco who shot -3 (69) and shares the lead at -1 with Maria Torres who shot even par (72) for the day. Great job guys!! Keep it going!! 🇵🇷

PGA TOUR: Dustin Johnson held off the challenge of England's Paul Casey to win the BMW Championship in Carmel, Indiana.American Johnson recovered from letting slip his three-shot overnight lead to card a five-under-par 67 and finish on 23 under.Casey, who also went round in 67, was three shots back, with American Roberto Castro third on 17 under.Defending champion and world number one Jason Day withdrew after eight holes with a lower back injury.Scotland's Russell Knox, who shot a 71, finished tied for 17th on eight under and England's Justin Rose tied for 25th on six under after a 68.Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell went round in level par to finish joint 42nd on three under.Johnson's victory lifted him to the top of the FedEx Cup standings with one event to go.

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) -- Paraguay's Carlos Franco who played on the Puerto Rico Open, rallied to win the Shaw Charity Classic on Sunday at chilly Canyon Meadows for his first PGA TOUR Champions victory.

 LPGA TOUR: In Gee Chun made history on Sunday en route to claiming her second major championship title in a wire-to-wire victory at The Evian Championship. The LPGA Tour rookie set a new major championship scoring record – male or female – with a four-day total of 21-under par and rounds of 63-65-65-69. She finished four shots clear of compatriots So Yeon Ryu and Sung Hyun Kim who were tied for second at 17-under par.
